It sounds stupid but I want to apologize for my english in advance. I'm not much of a writer, I'm more like a speaker.
I wanted to write a first post on my background related to the topic and on the circumstances. But there was a competition today and I want to write down my first impressions.
So background info will follow later.

It was a hard day.
I am sitting at home with a cool beer and a terrible sunburn. I'm trying to decide if it was a good day or not.

Today we had the race for F5-M category. I didn't have high expectations about today before. Well, things were even a bit worse. I have won two junior world championships with this boat. The second was 11 years ago, but the ship was bulit early 1995. I still think that it is a good shape. But the boat itself is way too old to compete. It was light wind today (Bft 2). Ideal conditions for trying out a boat that was hanged in the gardrobe for 10 year. Even in this wind it leaked a huge amount of water. It was definitely slower than the competitors boats and it was very hard to trim it because the fittings are not stiff enough anymore.
Let me put this in this way: I finished racing when I was 17. My greatest help at that time was my father. He built all my boats and he was there with me all the time helping me with his suggestions. (These suggestions indicated many serious debates at that time.) My father was there today for there is many old friends to see. He said as a conclusion that we should throw this ship away because it is useless. I kind of share his opinion on the useless part.

On the other part I become a bit rusty too. I made several mistakes in the first 5-6 rounds. Mistakes that I would never made 10 years ago. It was better at the end, I hope it will be even better tomorrow :)

After all it was a good day. I have learned a lot.
